Probably the finest producer of Arinto in the region.
Tucked away in gentle chalky hills north of Lisbon, this place is a “shangri-la†for Arinto. Never heard of Bucelas? Well,
it’s a quaint and bustling town surrounded by the region of the same name. So? Nowhere else in Portugal do terrain, aspect and vines combine to produce
Arinto grapes of near perfect balance, something even our beloved Bard couldn’t poetically ignore many centuries ago (Henry IV Part 2).
Vale da Murta Branco is immediately attractive yet has a length and array of flavours that make you take it seriously.
The Clássico is made from a selected plot and fine-lees aged for greater complexity and depth of flavour. Its hallmarks are attractiveness when young, and
seriously rewarding if given time in bottle. The Vale da Murta Tinto is a superbly drinkable Estremadura red from local grapes including a significant proportion of Touriga
Nacional and Syrah.
The estate Touriga is intense and robust and we hived off a paltry 1800 bottles of the pure unoaked version.
